In this article, Careers360 has analyzed the 10 universities with the highest number of students participating in FMGE 2022 after completing their medical studies in top medical universities in Bangladesh. These universities were initially categorized according to their ownership structure; H. State-owned and privately owned.
Furthermore, we have analyzed the top government and private medical universities in Bangladesh based on the above criteria. We have also compared the MBBS cost of 10 universities in Bangladesh with the annual MBBS cost in India.

Dhaka National Medical College & Hospital
231 students appeared for FMGE 2022 in these two state medical colleges. Of these, only 64 passed. The pass rate of these public medical colleges in Bangladesh is 27.6 percent.
The pass rate of FMGE 2022 is higher in private medical colleges in Bangladesh.

Accreditation is evidence that an institution is committed to quality standards. This accreditation is issued after verification by a national or private accreditation body. All eight private medical colleges in Bangladesh featured here are accredited by the country’s medical authority, the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council.
MBBS in Bangladesh: Medical Colleges and Hospitals
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has mandated Indian medical colleges to partner with functioning hospitals to provide practical training to medical students. It also requires foreign medical students to complete an internship at their own institution to be eligible to participate in the FMGE. Of the eight private medical colleges in Bangladesh, only Zainul Haque Sikder Women’s Medical College And Hospital did not mention the one-year internship that is mandatory as part of the MBBS program.
This is the same university and the details of the hospital’s ownership were also not clear. Careers360 could not determine whether Zainul Haque Sikder Women’s Medical College And Hospital has its own hospital or is affiliated with a hospital. The remaining seven universities have hospitals.
MBBS Colleges in Bangladesh: Ranking
International medical colleges were evaluated by ranking agencies such as Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Times Higher Education (THE), Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR) and Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). However, none of the above medical universities in Bangladesh are ranked by any global ranking agency.
MBBS in Bangladesh for Indian Students: Duration and Degree
The MBBS program in India includes four and a half years of theoretical training and one year of mandatory practical training. However, the name of the medical degree varies from country to country and even the duration of the MBBS or equivalent degree may vary. For example, after getting admission in MBBS in Bangladesh, students will undergo a five-year undergraduate medical program followed by one year of compulsory internship. Bangladesh offers MBBS degree to medical students. All the above private medical colleges in Bangladesh except Rangpur Community Medical College (RCMC) have the standard 5-year MBBS program duration. RCMC appears to offer a 6-year MBBS program followed by an internship.

The average annual cost of studying medicine in a private university in India is around Rs 1.7 million. The fee structure for MBBS in private medical colleges in Bangladesh for Indian students ranges from Rs 8,00,676 to Rs 72,961.
MBBS Admission in Bangladesh
In India, to get admission in a medical college, all medical students must pass the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG). Also, to get admission in MBBS in Bangladesh, Indian candidates must first pass NEET UG and seek permission from NMC to study MBBS abroad if they intend to work in India.
Careers360 has checked the MBBS Bangladesh admission criteria for the above private medical colleges in Bangladesh and there are some colleges where Indian students can get admission without NEET. But for Indian students who are planning to return to India, they will need to pass NEET to be eligible for FMGE.
