After completing an MBBS degree from abroad, individuals can practice in India. However, they need to pass the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to obtain a license to practice medicine in India. The FMGE evaluates the medical knowledge and skills of foreign medical graduates to ensure that they meet the required standards for medical practice in the country. Once they pass the FMGE, they can apply for registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the respective state medical council to start practicing as a qualified medical professional in India.

After completing an MBBS degree from abroad and passing the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) or the National Exit Test (NEXT), individuals can apply for government jobs in India and work in government hospitals or medical institutions. The FMGE or NEXT ensures that foreign medical graduates meet the necessary standards for medical practice in the country. Additionally, applicants must fulfill other eligibility criteria set by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the respective state medical councils to be eligible for employment in government healthcare institutions in India.

How many times I can appear in FMGE?

After completing MBBS studies abroad, candidates can attempt the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) a maximum of three times. If they do not pass the FMGE within these three attempts, they may not be eligible to practice medicine in India, unless they meet additional qualifications or requirements set by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or other relevant authorities. It’s crucial for candidates to prepare thoroughly for each attempt to maximize their chances of success.

Generally, these loans cover tuition fees, living expenses, travel costs, and other related expenses associated with pursuing an MBBS degree overseas.

Before applying for an education loan, it’s essential for students and their families to research different banks and financial institutions to compare loan terms, interest rates, repayment options, and eligibility criteria. Additionally, students should carefully consider their financial needs and ability to repay the loan after completing their studies. Seeking advice from financial advisors or loan counselors can also be beneficial in making informed decisions about education financing.

Therefore, it’s essential for aspiring medical students to prepare for and qualify NEET to pursue MBBS studies abroad.

If I don’t qualify NEET but still can take admission in abroad, is it possible?

In most cases, countries that offer MBBS programs abroad require NEET qualification for Indian students as a mandatory eligibility criterion. NEET serves as a standardized assessment to ensure the quality of candidates entering medical programs, and without a NEET score, admission to an MBBS program abroad is usually not possible. Therefore, aspiring medical students should prioritize preparing for and qualifying NEET to enhance their chances of securing admission to MBBS programs overseas.

Similarly, recognition abroad depends on the regulations and requirements set by each country’s medical council or regulatory authority. Some countries may require additional exams, assessments, or certification processes for foreign-trained medical graduates to practice medicine.
